MARTINSVILLE, IL – Raymond L. Warner, age 68 of Martinsville, Illinois, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 while at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. A Memorial Service, honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at East Harrison Street Church of God located at 17996 East Harrison Street Road – Charleston, with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating. Military Rites will also be conducted by the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592 and Charleston American Legion Post 93 combined honor guard. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Donations in his honor may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation and mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.
Raymond was born August 21, 1951 in Clark County, Illinois a son of the late Joseph G. and Louetta (Dill) Warner. He married Mary J. Richey on July 1, 1972 in Ashmore, Illinois and they celebrated 43 years of marriage prior to her death on November 2, 2015. He is survived by four devoted children, Jim Warner and wife Carrie of Mattoon, Joe Warner and wife Erin of Charleston, Barbie Warner of Martinsville, and Bobby Warner and wife LeAnn of Casey; eight grandchildren, Tyler Warner, James Warner, Savannah Warner, Abby Warner, Elisha Warner, Hailey Warner, Raedynn Warner and Reyse Warner; two brothers, Gary Warner and wife Fran and Ronnie Warner and wife Cora; and a sister, Linda Siverley.
Raymond honorably and faithfully served his country with the United States Army enduring two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the East Harrison Street Church of God family and a life member of the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592. He looked forward to every spring which signaled the start of that year’s vegetable garden that he so enjoyed tending throughout the summer. Raymond was a devout Christian man who lived his life accordingly and will always be remembered for his love for God, country and family. He will be greatly missed.
