CHARLESTON, IL – Stephanie Serri Schultz died peacefully at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital on August 31, 2021. A private funeral will be held to honor and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleston Food Pantry and mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Stephanie married William Schultz, Sr. on July 23, 1966, in Haddonfield, New Jersey and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2016. She is survived by her sons William Newbold Schultz, Jr. and wife Bonnie Laughlin-Schultz of Charleston and Jared Stephen Schultz and wife Allison Hedges Schultz of Greenbelt, Maryland; grandson, Henry William Schultz of Charleston; and devoted caregivers of recent years, particularly Stanley Carpenter of Charleston, whose companionship and friendship she cherished.
Stephanie was born July 13, 1942, in Camden, New Jersey. She taught music at Agnes Irwin, a private school in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania after attending Moorestown Friends School and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With husband Bill, Stephanie devotedly raised her children in southern New Jersey with unparalleled love, always wanting the best for them. Late in life Stephanie found Catholicism, adopted Charleston as her home, and was an exceptional cook, and lover of music and art. She was a grandmother of endless praise and enthusiasm.
