Sandra Seeley Obituary

CHARLESTON, IL – Sandra Lynn Seeley, age 78 of Charleston and formerly of Mattoon, Illinois, entered her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.  A graveside service, honoring and celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the Janesville Cemetery, located in Pleasant Grove Township southwest of Charleston with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating.  Inurnment of both her cremated remains and those of her husband, Robert Frank Seeley, will also take place with military services to be conducted in his honor.  Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Sandra’s memory may do so to her family, or to East Harrison Street Church of God.  Gifts may be mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL  61920.

Sandra was born in Paris, Illinois on November 25, 1941, a daughter of the late George and Virginia (Morrow) Swinford.  She married Robert Frank Seeley on June 11, 1960 in Mattoon and he preceded her in death earlier this year on March 14, 2020.  She is survived by three loving children, Teresa Lee and husband Bruce, William “Bill” Seeley and Don Seeley, all of Charleston; two grandchildren, Danielle Camp and husband Anthony, and John Lee, also of Charleston; and the newest addition to their family, her great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Camp.  In addition to her parents and Frank, her husband of nearly 60 years, Sandra was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Swinford; and two sisters, Donna Plank and Joyce Brown.

Sandra was a graduate of Mattoon High School and was employed with the Charleston School District as a school bus driver for 35 years, retiring in 2005.  She was a faithful member of the East Harrison Street Church of God family.  Sandra also enjoyed being at home and taking care of her own family.  Her time was often occupied with different types of puzzles, playing a game of Chance or enjoying the company of her puppy.  Sandra’s family will truly miss this special woman who blessed their lives with her loving care.
