Olivia Mae Swenson-Hultz

Olivia Mae Swenson-Hultz, age 26, of Charleston, IL, passed away doing what she loved, traveling the western United States, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Pomona, CA.  She was born December 06, 1996, in Columbus, OH, the daughter of Richard Hultz and Karen Swenson.

Olivia is survived by her parents, Richard Hultz and Karen Swenson of Charleston, IL; sister, Laurel Swenson-Hultz of Charleston, IL; grandmother, Elizabeth Swenson of Oberlin, OH; several aunts, uncles, cousins and great-uncles and aunt living throughout the country.  Olivia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martheda Hultz, Burton Hultz and Paul Swenson.

Olivia was a graduate of Charleston High School, class of 2015.  She attended Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL, and majored in journalism.  Olivia worked as a journalist, writing articles and taking photographs for various online publications as well as the Daily Eastern News.  She was a member of the Society for Collegiate Journalists.  Olivia was a free spirit and adventurer.  She loved animals, hiking, photography, reading, seeing new things, live music and concerts.  Olivia had a very special talent for writing.  She loved music, especially rock and roll, many variations including grunge and classic rock.

Memorial service for a time of sharing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Adams Funeral Chapel.  Private family burial will be held at a later date.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL.
