LaBou “Boski” DeWayne Turner, Jr., age 29, of Charleston, IL (formerly of Danville, IL) may he ball out in heaven on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 10:40 a.m. He was born July 20, 1994 in Danville, IL, the son of LaBou DeWayne Turner, Sr. and Kathy (Ledell) Minor.    

Survivors include his parents, Kathy Minor of Charleston, IL and LaBou DeWayne Turner Sr. of Ripley, TN; brothers, Daniel Minor of Arcola IL and Lee and Louis Turner of Charleston, IL; nieces, Da’Nell and Paige Minor of Chattanooga, TN, Keyairah Minor of Fort Wayne, IN, and Whitney Minor of Charleston, IL; nephews, Marc Bell of Charleston, IL, Alexander and Thaddeus Minor of Nashville, TN, Markell Minor and Tyler Highnote of Danville, IL, and Beau Minor of Arcola, IL; grandparents, Beulah Dandridge of Indianapolis, IN and George Turner of Ripley, TN; special cousins, Marquis and Martez Minor of Danville, IL, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil Minor, Sr.; grandmother, Ann Turner; step grandfather, John Dandridge; and uncle, Cecil Minor, Jr.   

LaBou was a 2012 graduate of Charleston High School where he received high honors. He was a member of REFLECTIONS which is an honors program at Northeast Magnet School in Danville, IL. He had high honors at Northridge Middle School in Danville, IL. LaBou also had high honors at Danville High School in Danville, IL. Upon graduation from Charleston High School, he attended Eastern Illinois University where he was on the Dean’s List. LaBou worked as a cashier at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Charleston, IL.  

LaBou was a faithful member of the University Baptist Church, which is now known as Charleston Baptist Church. He also participated in the Kennekuk Fun Run in Danville, IL. He received awards and trophies in track and field at Lincoln Park in Danville, IL. LaBou loved his family. He enjoyed playing card games, with spades being his favorite.  He also loved music.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 with Pastor James Irwin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
