Janet Kathleen Woodruff

Janet K. (Sears) Woodruff, age 75, of Charleston, Illinois went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 4, 1948, in Fremont, Ohio to Ernest and Marie (Berberick) Sears.

Janet graduated from York High School in Clyde, Ohio in 1966 and married her soulmate Gene in September 1978, and they were happily married for nearly 45 years. 

Janet worked for the General Electric Company at both Bellevue Lamp Plant and Mattoon Lamp Plant for 36 years, retiring in 2004. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janet enjoyed cruises, doing crafts, and watching Jeopardy. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charleston, Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, sister, Linda Dwight of Bellevue, Ohio; children, Lisa Forsythe (Tim) of Marshall, Illinois and Scott Woodruff of St. Peters, Missouri; Step children John Woodruff (Lori) of Charleston, Illinois, Sherri Wilhelm (Dave) of Monroeville, Ohio; grandchildren, Megan Woodruff of Effingham, Illinois, Parker Woodruff of Charleston, Illinois, Violet Woodruff of St. Peters, Missouri and Logan Woodruff of St. Peters, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Ernest, Harold, and Leslie Sears.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and no public services will be held.  A family memorial will be held at a later date.
