James “Jim” Franklin Miller, age 74, of Charleston, IL formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away peacefully at 11:48 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Charleston, IL. He was born July 27, 1948 in Greenup, IL, the son of Darrell Franklin Miller and Ida Christine (Glosser) Miller.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Nading (Chadd) of Schertz, TX; grandsons, Eric Nading, Chris Garcia and Mason Nading all of Schertz, TX; sisters, Darla Finney of Ashmore, IL, Nancy Cox (David) of Charleston, IL, Linda Zimmerle (Mike) of Charleston, IL and Karen McComas (Steve) of Charleston, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry C. Miller; grandsons, Alex Nading, Conrad Nading and brother-in-law, Chuck Finney.
Jim was a 1968 Charleston High School graduate. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. Jim loved attending Living Waters Church of God in Madisonville, KY. He was a soft-spoken man of few words and enjoyed any time he could spend with his daughter, his cats and helping others. Jim enjoyed serving as a volunteer fireman and traveling.
His wishes were to be cremated and interred next to his family in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, IL.
