BOONVILLE, MO – James Lee McNutt, Sr., age 77 of Boonville, Missouri and formerly of Charleston, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Leila Ferguson at his side, on August 13, 2020.  His loving family will host a visitation at Adams Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. with a time of sharing led by Pastor Jerry Sweeney at 3:00.  The family is asking that masks be worn by those attending.  Memorials in his honor may be made to the Alzheimers Association and left at the visitation or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL  61920.

Jim was born August 30, 1942, the son of Jack T. and June (Featherstun) McNutt.  Following the death of his mother when Jim was 24, his father remarried and Jim was blessed with Reata as a loving and devoted step-mother.  Jim was a 1960 graduate of Charleston High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was the owner of Jim McNutt and Associates, an investment and financial planning firm operating in Charleston for 40 years.

Jim was dedicated to the Charleston community.  He was a long time member and served a term as president of the Charleston Jaycees.  He was also a member and served a term as president of the Exchange Club.

Jim always enjoyed an afternoon of fishing and time with family.  Summer vacations were always a special time.  He was a man with a steadfast and enduring faith in God, and a never ending love and devotion for his family.

Left to cherish their many memories are his children, Toni McNutt of Charleston and James McNutt, Jr. (Danielle Stingel) of Kannapolis, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Kendra Barbee (Shane), Payton McNutt and fiance Justin McEwen, Natalia McNutt and Maya McNutt; three great-grandchildren, Candice McNutt, Mallory Barbee and Julian McEwen; and a sister, Lynn Cunningham (Gary) of Pontiac, Illinois.  In addition to his parents and stepmother, Jim was preceded by his wife of 48 years, Sabina McNutt and a sister, Judy Samuelson.
