Frances J. Williams

Frances Joyce Williams, age 95, of Charleston, IL passed away at 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. She was born December 21, 1928 in Flora, IL, to Rodell and Doris (Edmiston) Hargis. She married Roger DeWayne Williams on April 30, 1965 in Salem, IL. He passed away on August 20, 2008.

She is survived by her sons, DeWayne “Butch” Williams (Cathy) of Centralia, IL, Stephen Williams of Salem, IL, Edward Brubaker (Joan) of Champaign, IL, and Steven Williams (Theresa) of Atwood, IL, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents that raised her Margorie and Glenn Edmiston, parents, stepparents, son David Brubaker, and daughter-in-law Karen Williams.

Frances was a graduate of Salem High School and attended Bethel Women’s College in Kentucky. She worked for several years at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center as a Lifeline Coordinator and Volunteer Services in Mattoon, IL. Frances was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Private Services will be held at a later date. Private Inurnment will be held in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
