Evelia Fuentes Obituary

CHARLESTON – Evelia Fuentes, age 76 of Charleston and formerly of Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico, entered her heavenly home on Monday, September 14, 2020 while at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 921 Madison Avenue in Charleston, with Father Braden Maher officiating.  Her earthly body will then be cremated and her cremated remains will return home to Mexico.  Memorials in her honor may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to the Newman Catholic Center and left at the Mass or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL  61920.

Evelia was born May 28, 1944 in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico.  Her father was Jose Rodriguez Rojas and her mother was Beatriz Garcia Torres.  She is married to Elias Fuentes Gonzalez of Mexico.  She is also survived by her four children; Maria Celia Fuentes Rodriguez and husband Juan Jose Leon Cruz of Mexico, Arturo Fuentes Rodriguez and wife Ana Berta Fuentes of Tennessee, Agustina Fuentes Rodriguez and husband Amado Navarro Limon of Charleston, and Yolanda Fuentes Rodriguez of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Teresita De Jesus Leon, Juan Pablo Leon, Arturo Elias Fuentes Perez, Ana Esmeralda Fuentes Perez, Maria Estefany Fuentes Perez, Jose Elias Navarro Fuentes, Christopher Navarro Fuentes, Amado Angel Navarro Fuentes; two brothers,  Luis Rodriguez Garcia and Agustin Rodriguez Garcia both of Mexico.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jesus Rodriguez Garcia. 

Evelia was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the Newman Catholic Center.  She was a homemaker, enjoyed knitting, other forms of needlework, and was devoted to taking care of a family she truly loved.   She became a resident of the United States 18 years ago to be near loved ones. She will be forever loved and truly missed by all her family.
