Debra O’Jane LaPlante, Charleston, IL

Debra “Debbie” O’Jane LaPlante, age 68, of Charleston, IL, formerly of Carol Stream, IL, went to be with Jesus at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at her home in Charleston, IL.  She was born October 27, 1954, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Noubar and Margaret (Arghnian) Derderian.  On April 4, 1981, Debbie married Thomas J LaPlante in Addison, IL.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Thomas J LaPlante; son, Justin (Mary) LaPlante of Springfield, OR; daughter, Lauren LaPlante of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Landon and Brennan LaPlante, both of Springfield, OR; brother; Alex Derderian of Bartlett, IL; brother in law, David LaPlante of Aurora, IL.  Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Noubar and Margaret Derderian; brother-in-law, Gary LaPlante.

Debbie was a graduate of Addison High School, class of 1972.  She had most recently worked at Merle Norman in Mattoon, IL.  Debbie was also a realtor for many years and had worked at the Coles County Board of Realtors.  She attended the East Harrison Street Church of God in Charleston, IL, previously attended the Salisbury Church in Charleston, IL.  Debbie enjoyed gardening, bike riding and going on walks.  She also enjoyed raising her two children and loved her grandchildren.  Debbie was proud to be a child of God.

A celebration of life will be at East Harrison Church of God on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
