CHARLESTON, IL – Debra Lynn Guymon, age 65 of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. A private visitation will be held for family at Adams Funeral Chapel and a Graveside Service, celebrating her life, will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020 in Roselawn Cemetery with Reverend Tom Farris officiating. Memorials in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society and mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Debbie was born November 12, 1954 in Charleston, the daughter of Keith and Lucy (Lewis) Johnson. She married James R. Guymon on February 25, 1972 and they were married 34 years prior to his death on December 19, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by a sister, Janice Hudson. Debbie is survived by two loving and devoted sons, James K. Guymon and wife Lisa and Jeremy S. Guymon and fiance Denise, all of Charleston; three grandchildren, Blaine Guymon of Charleston, Kaleb Guymon and fiancé Whitney of Trilla, Illinois, and Sarahlynn Guymon of Charleston; a great-grandchild, Carter James Guymon; a brother, Dr. Steven Johnson and wife Becky of Wisconsin and a sister, Diane Halsey and husband George of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
Debbie was a graduate of Charleston High School and cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was a meticulous housekeeper whose home was always neat and tidy. She enjoyed her flower gardens, playing computer games and adding to her vast collection of butterfly figurines. Time spent with her family was always enjoyable and appreciated and they will always treasure the love and devotion she had for them.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE
The Graveside Service celebrating the life of Debra Guymon was held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery with Pastor Tom Farris officiating. James Guymon shared a few words about his mother. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace" and "House of the Rising Sun". Pallbearers were: Mike French, Jacob Starwalt, Rob Hudson, Jeremy Guymon and James Guymon.
