Carol E. Randolph

Carol E. Randolph, age 73, of Mattoon, IL (formerly of Charleston, IL) passed on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 7:09 p.m. at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL. She was born December 18, 1949 in Charleston, IL; the daughter of Randall Lee Moody and Irene Freda (Bailey) Moody. On March 16, 1974 she married Charles Lynn “Buddy” Randolph in Effingham, IL; he passed away on June 14, 2010.      

Survivors include her children, Julie Maring (Randy) of Charleston, IL and Gregory Randolph of Mattoon, IL; grandchildren, Cate Cunningham (JD) of Paris, IL, Shelby Dyer (Chris) of Mattoon, IL, and Drake Helmuth of Charleston, IL; sister, Lynne Hull (David Finley) of Charleston, IL;  great grandchildren, Jasper and Copeland Dyer of Mattoon, IL and Reese Cunningham of Paris, IL; and beloved feline companion, Milo Randolph. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Buddy Randolph.   

Carol was a 1968 graduate of Charleston High School. She previously worked in customer service for Comfort Suites in Mattoon, IL. Carol was a faithful member of the Southern Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Seth Emerson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Graveside Burial will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery, 5063 Camp Butler Road, Springfield, IL 62707.

Memorial donations may be made to Cate Cunningham or Shelby Dyer to help with funeral costs c/o Adams Funeral Chapel.
