Anita Butler Obituary

Anita P. Butler, 87, of Charleston, Illinois passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Adams Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anita was born January 11, 1935, in Charleston, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Mary (Andres) Leitch. She married Dean Butler in July of 1977, and he preceded her in death in June of 1986. Anita is survived by her son, Tim (Jodi) Maloy; sister, Zella Price; three grandchildren, Karissa Maloy, Megan Maloy, and Adam Vanzant; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Terry Vanzant; and ten brothers and sisters.

Anita’s first twelve years of schooling were spent at Eastern Illinois University’s Laboratory School. After graduating high school, she went on to attend Moody Bible College. She was a member of Christ First Church in Charleston and regularly attended weekly Bible studies. Her caring spirit and strong faith will be dearly missed.
