March 5, 1927 ~ February 25, 2022 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Alice Seeley Obituary

CHARLESTON, IL – Alice M. Warman Seeley, 94, of Charleston, Illinois reunited with her husband Raymond on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center with family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Adams Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, Illinois. 

Alice was born March 5, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of George Delbert and Rachel (Sims) Hays. She married Raymond Harold Seeley at the Charleston Otterbein United Methodist Church on October 14, 1977, and they shared 40 wonderful years together. Ray went to his heavenly home on May 13, 2018. She is survived by her two sons, Darrell (Debbie) Warman of Charleston, Illinois, and Clyde (Trish) Warman of Bull Head City, Arizona; two stepsons, John (Penny) Seeley of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Ronald (Carol) Seeley of Fisher, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Angela Warman, Clyde Warman Jr, Amy Warman, Kayela (Eric) Hill, Jessica Seeley, Eddie (Meghan) Seeley, and Beth (Matt) Hedges; twelve great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters-in-law, Judy Seeley, and Kim Seeley; stepson, James Seeley; and sisters-in-law, Wilma Pedigo and Phyllis Christoff.

Alice was a graduate from Charleston High School class of 1944. She was a member of the Charleston Otterbein United Methodist Church, the Moose Auxiliary, and VFW Women’s Lifetime Membership.

Alice enjoyed crafts such as quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She loved Pine Needle Art which included many beautiful baskets she shared with friends and family. She had won several ribbons for them at the Coles County Fair. Her fondness for traveling was shared by Ray, and their travels to the western states, including Alaska and Hawaii, were memorable. Alice and Ray enjoyed many close friendships and evenings spent around the card table. Alice had won the Oldest Member at the SIMS family reunion in 2021. Her true love in life was her family and grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Silas Kyle Sims Scholarship Foundation or Relay for Life of Coles County and left at the visitation/service or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL  61920.
