Carolyn Sue Reed's Obituary
Carolyn Sue Reed, age 76, of Ashmore, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was born on August 12, 1949, in Mattoon, Illinois, to Everett Carroll and Madge (Titus) Homann, who raised her with strong family values that she carried with her throughout her life.
Carolyn is survived by her three sons, Charles “Tony” (Susan) Clifton of Ashmore, Jaydyn Reed of Ashmore, and Kaydyn Reed of Mattoon; her cherished grandchild, Lacey (Noah) Spence of Sullivan; her niece, Telane Homan of Mattoon; and her great-nieces, Charlee and Carlee, who brought her much joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.
Carolyn was a graduate of Mattoon High School and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She retired from Something Fishy in Baytown, Texas, where she worked as a customer service representative, and previously was employed at the Mattoon Garment Factory as a dress inspector.
In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed crafting and took great comfort in caring for her beloved cats, who were a constant source of companionship and love.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
